Professor Aijun Huang holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham, UK. He is a Fellow, Chartered Engineer and Chartered Scientist of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining UK. He is currently the Associate Dean – International, Faculty of Engineering and the Director of Monash Centre for Additive Manufacturing and a full tenured professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Monash University.

Prior to his appointment at Monash University, Prof. Huang was an industry technical expert for a number of multinational corporations. Prof Huang held the position of the Executive Vice President of the High-Performance Materials Business Unit which exclusively manufacturing all aerospace metallic materials in Baosteel Group; a Fortune Global 500 company. From 2006 to 2012, Prof Huang was the Titanium Specialist of Rolls Royce Derby globally leading the titanium and titanium aluminides fundamental research within the company where he was elected to the Rolls Royce Engineering Leadership List in 2011

Aijun Huang教授拥有英国伯明翰大学博士学位。他是英国材料、矿物与采矿学会的会士、特许工程师和特许科学家。他现任莫纳什大学工程学院国际事务副院长、莫纳什大学增材制造中心主任,同时也是材料科学与工程系的终身教授。

在加入莫纳什大学之前,黄教授是多家跨国公司的行业技术专家。黄教授曾担任宝钢集团高性能材料事业部执行副总裁,该事业部专门生产所有航空航天金属材料;宝钢集团是一家世界500强企业。2006年至2012年,黄教授担任劳斯莱斯德比公司的钛专家,在全球范围内领导公司内部的钛和钛铝金属基础研究工作,并于2011年入选劳斯莱斯工程领导力名单。

报告内容简介

Additive manufacturing (AM) is a transformative technology reshaping the economics of producing aerospace metallic components. While several additively manufactured aerospace parts have successfully entered service in recent years, the overall adoption of AM parts remains limited due to high costs, unpredictable defects, and inadequate mechanical properties.This presentation will highlight the application-driven research efforts at the Monash Centre for Additive Manufacturing aimed at overcoming these challenges. Through alloy design, microstructure manipulation, and the development of hybrid manufacturing processes, significant advancements have been achieved in improving the mechanical properties and controlling defects in AM aerospace components. Additionally, A perspective of Australian metal additive manufacturing industry will also be discussed.

增材制造(AM)是一种变革性技术,正在重塑航空航天金属部件生产的经济性。尽管近年来一些增材制造的航空航天部件已成功投入使用,但由于成本高、缺陷不可预测以及机械性能不足,AM部件的整体采用仍然受限。本次演讲将重点介绍莫纳什增材制造中心针对这些挑战的应用驱动型研究工作。通过合金设计、微观结构操控以及混合制造工艺的开发,已在改善AM航空航天部件的机械性能和控制缺陷方面取得了重大进展。此外,还将讨论澳大利亚金属增材制造行业的现状。
