On May 22, the College of Materials Science and Engineering held the “Setting Sail for Graduate School Dreams” Mobilization Conference for the Class of 2027 at Lecture Hall D101 in Qiming Building on the Lihu Campus. Li Xiaoping, Deputy Secretary; class advisors Yin Xiaojun, Miao Jingsheng, Xie Chuan, and Chen Yahui; Zhou Yan, Secretary of the Communist Youth League of China; Wu Duanyang, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League of China; and more than 140 students attended the event.

At the meeting, Teacher Wu Duanyang noted, based on graduate school admission data from the past decade, that competition for graduate school admissions is becoming increasingly fierce. He also advised students to set clear goals and approach retaking the exam with a rational mindset. Teacher Zhou Yan discussed key milestones in the job search process and methods for managing stress. Outstanding student representatives Wang Jiahao and Huang Yingrui shared their experiences in preparing for the general and specialized courses; Wu Zigeng, who was admitted to Johns Hopkins University, outlined the application process for doctoral programs abroad.

Deputy Secretary Li Xiaoping concluded this meeting by emphasizing that students should clarify their path as early as possible, act decisively, maintain a calm mindset, carry forward the spirit of hard work, and integrate their personal aspirations into the development of the times.

This mobilization meeting helped students gain a comprehensive understanding of the graduate school admissions tendency and test-prep strategies, laying the groundwork for their academic planning. The College of Materials Science and Engineering will continue to promote a culture of academic excellence to support students as they progress steadily in their academic journey.
