On the afternoon of September 8, the College of Materials Science and Engineering held the opening ceremony for its 2026 undergraduate freshmen in the lecture hall of Shouzhong Building, Lihu Campus. The Dean delivered a speech welcoming the freshmen and introducing the College’s development achievements and enrollment situation: the undergraduate enrollment scale has continued to expand, and student enrollment covers multiple regions. He encouraged the freshmen to aim high, engage in practice to enhance research capabilities, and maintain physical and mental health to lay a solid foundation for development.

Afterwards, an appointment ceremony for freshman class advisors was held, and the Dean presented letters of appointment. The ceremony also featured a “Teachers’ Voices: Setting Sail” interview session, during which six teachers answered questions on adapting to university life, preparation for postgraduate recommendation and competitions, employment trends and comprehensive quality requirements.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the College expressed its earnest expectations for the freshmen under the theme of “thought, creativity, and realm.”
