On June 16, 2026, Zhou Lingfeng from the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Shenzhen University visited Guangdong Ocean University to deliver a graduate admissions presentation. The event aimed to introduce the graduate admissions of Shenzhen University and the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Shenzhen University to outstanding undergraduates from relevant majors at Guangdong Ocean University, and to further strengthen the ties between the two universities in talent cultivation, academic exchange, and the expansion of graduate applicant sources.

The presentation was delivered by Dr. Zhou Lingfeng. He first introduced Shenzhen University in terms of its development history, educational characteristics, disciplinary layout, location advantages, and talent cultivation environment, with a focus on the open educational pattern and development vitality shaped by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Shenzhen’s innovative industrial system. He then, in light of frontier developments in materials science and major national needs, systematically introduced the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Shenzhen University, including its faculty, research platforms, research directions, graduate admissions policies, scholarship and financial aid systems, and graduates’ further study and employment outcomes. During the presentation, Dr. Zhou focused on and discussed directions such as new energy materials, service safety of metallic materials, corrosion and protection in marine environments, and advanced manufacturing and materials performance evaluation. In light of Guangdong Ocean University’s talent cultivation strengths in marine science, mechanical engineering, and materials and energy-related disciplines, he introduced the College’s research foundation and graduate training advantages in fields such as marine engineering equipment materials, new energy equipment materials, and service safety in extreme environments.

The session was lively. Students actively asked questions about application requirements, research directions, preparation for the second-round examination/interview, research training, and future development. Dr. Zhou answered each question in detail. This event further deepened Guangdong Ocean University students’ understanding of the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Shenzhen University and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation between the two universities in talent cultivation, admissions promotion, research collaboration, and academic exchange. We look forward to welcoming more outstanding students from Guangdong Ocean University to the College of Materials Science and Engineering of Shenzhen University and to embarking on a new journey in graduate studies in the fertile innovation ground of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
