On the afternoon of May 6th, to enhance organized scientific research, the Science and Technology Development Research Institute of Shenzhen University visited theCollegeof Materials Scienceand Engineeringfor a symposium on research project applications. Attendees included Wei Yang, Vice Dean of the Science and Technology Development Research Institute; Li Jie, Assistant Dean; project managers Zhi Li, Lin Hai, and Lu Chunyi; as well as Wang Dong, Vice Dean of theCollegeof Materials Scienceand Engineering, and faculty representatives from various research teams.

Vice Dean Wang Dong extended a warm welcome to the STDRI delegation and provided an overview of the attending faculty and the school’s project application initiatives. TheCollegeof Materials Scienceand Engineeringplaces high importance on applications for national-level programs such as the National Natural Science Foundation, National Key R&D Projects, and provincial/municipal science and technology plans. Through targeted mobilization and expert guidance, the school continuously improves the quality of project proposals.

Vice Dean Wei Yang outlined the purpose of the visit, expressing hopes to gain deeper insights into faculty needs regarding project applications, clarify policy-related questions, and refine the Science and Technology Development Research Institute’s support services.

During the discussion session, faculty members raised detailed inquiries on topics such as application quota policies, proposal writing strategies, and project completion procedures, based on their research fields and prior experience. The Science and Technology Development Research Institute representatives provided thorough responses and offered tailored suggestions, fostering a lively and productive exchange.
