Prof. Liu Xinke selected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (Class 2024)

Prof. Liu Xinke, a researcher at the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Shenzhen University, has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). He recently received a congratulatory letter from the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), confirming this prestigious recognition.

The Royal Society of Chemistry, established in 1841, is one of the oldest and most influential academic institutions in the global chemistry community. With nearly 80 Nobel laureates among its Fellows, the RSC is dedicated to advancing the chemical sciences and their applications. Each year, the society selects outstanding researchers worldwide who have made significant contributions to the field of chemistry for this esteemed fellowship.

Dr. Liu Xinke is a Senior Member of IEEE, a doctoral supervisor, and serves as the Assistant Director of the Institute of Microelectronics at Shenzhen University. His research focuses on wide-bandgap semiconductor gallium nitride (GaN) materials and devices. He has led several major research projects, including those funded by the National Key R&D Program of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Dr. Liu has published 121 SCI-indexed papers as the first author or corresponding author in prominent journals such as Materials Today and Advanced Materials. He has also presented 28 papers at prestigious conferences like IEDM and ISPSD. Dr. Liu's work has garnered significant academic recognition, with 4,171 citations on Google Scholar and an h-index of 35. He holds 97 patents, with 33 granted (32 in China and 1 in the United States), and has successfully transferred 28 intellectual property rights. His accolades include the Guangdong Science Popularization Competition Excellence Award (2021), the Guangdong Provincial Technology Transfer Bronze Award (2021), the Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Second Prize (2022), the China Electronics Society Science and Technology Progress Second Prize (2022), and the Shenzhen Youth Science and Technology Award (2023, nominated by Academician Mao Junfa). He has also been named among the top 2% of global scientists in 2020, 2022, and 2023.

Dr. Liu's election as an FRSC reflects his exceptional contributions to the field of GaN-based materials and devices, and his dedication to advancing GaN-based research on an international scale.
