On July 14, 2025, the Materials College of Shenzhen University welcomed 40 teachers and students from Puning City Chao Shi Senior High School (Puning Campus of Shantou Chaoyang Experimental School) to visit. They jointly participated in an educational and meaningful popular science activity. Under the overall arrangement of Wang Daguang, the head teacher of the laboratory center, five popular science experiments were carefully prepared.
1. Microscopic Explorer: It was led by Luo Junxuan, the team of students demonstrated the scanning electron microscope. The students from Puning City Chao Shi Senior High School exclaimed in amazement and gained a more intuitive understanding of the microscopic world.

2. Photosynthetic Energy Park: It was organized by Professor Zou Yang. Professor Zou introduced organic photovoltaic materials, presented the development history of organic photovoltaic materials, and demonstrated their applications in displays and flexible screens, which aroused great interest among the participants.

3. Sodium-Zinc Motion: This project is led by the specially-appointed professor team. The graduate students of the team guided the students to assemble button batteries by themselves, which deepened the students' understanding of battery technology and enabled them to experience the energy conversion process of new energy materials.

4. Three-Dimensional Dream Factory: It was led by Teacher Zeng Yuxiang. Teacher Zeng explained the principle of 3D printing and demonstrated how 3D printing technology can turn ideas into reality, allowing students to experience the charm of modern manufacturing technology.

During the event, the science education teachers and volunteers patiently answered various questions and actively showcased the campus culture, demonstrating the excellent spirit of the teachers and students of the College of Materials Science and Engineering. Through this activity, the students of Chao Shi Senior High School in Ping Ning not only gained a deeper understanding of materials science, but also experienced the fun and charm of scientific experiments. We hope that through such science popularization activities, more students will develop a love for materials science!
